Better collaborative drainage management
Six weirs were built on farmland throughout the Peel-Harvey Catchment through the Regional Estuaries Initiative. These weirs slow down the movement of water, allowing plants to remove nutrients and sediments to settle. By retaining water in the landscape, farmers benefit from an extended pasture growing season – providing a mutual benefit to both farmer productivity and the environment.
